Intro

At best, a serious case of food poisoning could damage a business’s reputation. At worst, it could endanger customers’ lives.

Responsible organisations can help to ensure the safety of their business and their customers by gaining a thorough knowledge of basic food hygiene principles and practice.

Basic Food Hygiene will help employees to establish and maintain high standards of food hygiene within your business. The high quality, interactive content provides an effective grounding in food safety which can help participants achieve a recognised public health qualification.

Pre-Requisites
No pre-requisites required, full diagnostic assessment offered before any testing. Don't panic if you haven't studied for a while, on enrolment you will be given tutor support throughout the duration of your course.
Qualification Levels / Awarding Body

The basic food hygiene course is awarded by the Royal Institute of Public Health to which we are an accredited testing centre. There are two main qualification options for taking part in the course:

  1. Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene
  2. Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

The whole course takes approximately 8 hours to complete, The units are provided through the learndirect eLearning system allowing you the flexibility to study the units at home or in our centre or mixed its up to you but most people choose to take it as a one day training event at our centre.

Course Delivery Method Testing Method
Mixed - The delivery method is mixed comprising of tutor based support and guidance, eLearning material through learndirect. There are pre-tests to give you confidence and address any short comings before attempting the 50 minute test at the end of the course taken at one of our centres.

  • What to expect at Enrolment
  • - All of our staff are Matrix accredited to give you the best initial advice and guidance possible before enrolment. This process can take between 40mins to an hour.
  • - Once you are enroled you will receive access to the eLearning system and you will be able to access your course, exam results tutor notes from any internet ready PC meeting our system requirements.
